Tele2 Arena, the latest addition to the famous Stockholm Globe Arenas district, is really leading the way for the future of multi-purpose venues.
Construction of the Tele2 Arena started in late 2010 and works were completed in July 2013. Several delays, amidst the toughest winters for over 100 years, pushed back an initial completion date of December 2012.
The award-winning stadium (Venue of the Year at TheStadiumBusiness Awards 2014) came at a cost of €292million, paid for by the city of Stockholm.
Stockholm’s Tele2 Arena represents the next stage of urban stadium development – integrating a retractable roof, multi-use event space, leading technology an diverse on-site hospitality offers.
Under-water themed bowling, Crazy Golf, American sports bars, a ‘Secret Karaoke Bar’ and much more lies just beneath the surface.
Above this entertainment hub, the Arena has a maximum capacity of up to 45,000 and regularly host concerts, motor sport, ice sports, exhibitions and corporate events, in addition to football.
Within just one year, Tele2 Arena has established a new benchmark not only in venue design and operations, but also technology, notably with free WiFi throughout.
