Jaguars building poolside cabanas in stadium
The Jacksonville Jaguars took out 9,500 seats in the north end zone of EverBank Field and replacing them with a two-level party deck that includes two swimming pools and 16 cabanas.
For $12,500 a game or $250 per person, companies or fans can rent one of the four poolside cabanas on the first level. The package includes 50 tickets and all-you-can-eat food and drinks. Wine and beer will be served through the third quarter.
On the upper level of the party deck, a similar package of 20 tickets is available for $3,000 per game or $150 per person. However, it does not include pool access.
The team said it has already sold 65% of the in-stadium cabanas for this season.
“We’re targeting businesses who want to entertain some of their clients or even their own employees,” said Chad Johnson, the Jaguars’ senior vice president of sales, according to ESPN.com. “What we’ve built here you can’t get anywhere else.”
The party deck is part of a $63 million stadium renovation that includes installing the world’s largest HD LED video screens, new field-level seats and tables in the club sections.
“We wanted to take areas in our stadium that were underperforming and get creative,” Johnson said. “It’s no secret that we’ve had tarps on seats, so we wanted to turn that around and build premium areas.”
