#SBS21 Preview: Lean Management & the New Fan Experience
Zalgiris basketball club in Kaunas is the most famous and best-supported basketball club in Lithuania. The club also operates the largest indoor arena in the Baltics – Žalgirio Arena – which functions as a 365 day flexible and innovative venue, hosting international sell-out concerts, large exhibitions and national conferences.
We welcome to the Summit speaker programme this year Une Marija Jurkstaite, Chief Business Officer, BC Zalgiris Kaunas.
Une joined the club in 2014, rose to Ticket Sales Director in 2016 and her focus on the fan experience led to her current role – since 2018 – with overall accountability for the development and execution of the club’s business plan. As such, Une also oversees Marketing, Ticket sales and B2B sales.
Leading from the front, Une has driven various initiatives including new premium guest spaces, dynamic pricing and marketing campaigns based on visitor experience. Some of the key successes to date include:
- Ticketing revenues increased by 110%;
- Average attendance increased by 35% reaching almost 15k per game (2018 – 2019) and in doing so, broke league records on attendance;
- Žalgiris Kaunas was awarded the EuroLeague Devotion Marketing Award for an exceptional Ticketing Acceleration program (2018).
Today, she also directs transformation projects – such as the Žalgiris Innovation Studio – and leads Lean Management Techniques across the organisation.
