Ahead of TheStadiumBusiness Summit 2022Tom Gorringe, CEO of English League Two football club Bristol Rovers, discusses how the Memorial Stadium has fared during the COVID-19 reopening, along with what is on the agenda for the club in the coming months.

Having first joined Bristol Rovers as commercial director in September 2017, Gorringe was promoted to become CEO in November. Prior to joining Rovers, Gorringe spent over three years at Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion, latterly as women’s team director from October 2016 to September 2017.

His career in the football industry has also included spells at Cardiff City and Portsmouth.

TheStadiumBusiness: How is the reopening/return of fans going for Bristol Rovers?

Tom Gorringe: “The return of supporters has been refreshing and re-invigorating after a difficult period without them. Football is all about the supporters so it has been great to get back to how things should be and get the supporter back at the heart of what we do. We have lots of plans and exciting things in the pipeline for the new season to further improve our offering for supporters.”

TSB: What’s on the roadmap for the club over the next six to 12 months?

TG: “Continuing to drive standards, make improvements to all areas, particularly the matchday experience and to continue to push to move up the football pyramid.”

TSB: What are you looking forward to most about the Summit?

TG: “Getting back to more normality, sharing the room with knowledgeable and passionate colleagues from the industry to share plans and get new ideas.”
