Speaker Preview: Cleveland Cavaliers
Ron Velazquez, VP of Ticket Operations for Cleveland Cavaliers, will be discussing driving long-lasting value and engagement with fans at #SBS16.
The return of LeBron James, the long-term signing of Kyrie Irving, the addition of Kevin Love and other key players have the Cavaliers finding success on the court and in the hunt for Cleveland’s first NBA Championship. Some of the real outcomes lie in the Cavs’ operational achievements and their desire to drive long-lasting value with their fans.
TheStadiumBusiness Summit welcomes Ron Velazquez, 25 year ticketing veteran who will be showcasing how the Cavaliers organisation was able to leverage years of insights and executive initiatives to get tickets into the hands of fans, whilst driving membership benefits – even for those without tickets.
Ron joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2007 and remains as Vice President of Ticket Operations at Quicken Loans Arena. In his time with the Cavaliers, Ron has developed various programmes to streamline communication and project management for all ticketing related initiatives, including SharePoint tools and dashboard reporting. Ron’s greatest accomplishment – which he introduces on stage in Madrid – came in the summer of 2009 when he led the efforts to convert to the team’s improved ticketing system – AXS Flash Seats®
Originally launched in 2006 by Samuel Gerace and NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers Majority Owner and sports technology investor, Dan Gilbert, Veritix’s innovative and ground-breaking strategy in the ticketing industry enjoyed immediate success managing ticketing for dozens of venues along with empowering teams from the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLS, AHL, Hockey Canada, NASCAR, NCAA and DI-III College Athletics programs.
Flash Seats is an ID-based digital ticketing system but also acts as a method of delivery, as well as secondary market. The platform provides clients with fully trackable data as tickets pass from primary to secondary markets and from one fan to the next.
“Thanks to this innovative solution, tickets are now people, not barcodes,” writes AXS. “And most importantly the venue or team know exactly who is in attendance.”
AXS has chosen TheStadiumBusiness Summit 2016 in Madrid to introduce the platform to the European attendance.
