The world’s tech companies are lining up to sell us more and more kit. But which investments are really paying dividends? Where are the smart choices being made?
Joining the Summit speaker lineup in Dublin, we introduce Mike Bohndiek, Head of IT, West Ham FC, Paul Lipscombe, Head of IT, Bristol Sport and Tomás Meehan, Chief Technology Officer, GAA for a roundtable discussion.
West Ham FC’s Move To a New Home
With its move to London Stadium, West Ham FC is enjoying the benefits of the youngest stadium in the Premier League. How did the club plan its IT infrastructure as the team transitioned from Upton Park to the new facilities of a post-Olympic stadium. Enter Mike Bohndiek, Head of IT.
With 12 years of experience in the stadium industry, Mike has now worked across 11 major venues and on two stadium migrations; Arsenal from Highbury to Emirates Stadium and West Ham United from Upton Park to London Stadium, where he is now permanently employed as Head of IT. He’ll be speaking on stadium transformation and the technology powering West Ham United on and off the field from a match day perspective.
Ashton Gate: The Live Test Lab
Bristol Sport is promoting its Aston Gate Stadium as “a live test lab for vendors and solutions providers, to be able to develop their products and bring them to market quicker in a real world environment.” Paul Lipscombe, Head of IT will lift the lid on its cutting edge partnerships in SDN trials and experimental HD Wifi, along with the spec of its new broadcast studio.
Partnerships & Innovation at Croke Park
Tomás Meehan, Chief Technology Officer, GAA will take to the stage to offer unique insights into innovation partnerships at Croke Park, along with the co-operative approach to the stadium’s proposed DAS deployment. As Chief Information Officer, Tomás is responsible for delivering the operational and strategic IT objectives of the Association. A DCU graduate, he joined the GAA in March 2015 from PwC where he worked in the Advisory practice as a Technology Consultant. Tomás previously worked as a Solutions Architect for Allied Irish Banks p.l.c. and as Systems Engineer in the Pharmaceutical sector.
