How well do different stadium businesses perform? What levels of matchday revenue can a top club in a great stadium expect to deliver?

These are the questions on our mind at TheStadiumBusiness….

So… we decided to play around with the great stats contained in Deloitte’s Football Money League 2014 report (full report PDF here) to get a clearer picture of which clubs have great stadium business performances.

Taking a look at matchday revenue per seat (for the 2012/13 season), Chelsea FC’s operations at Stamford Bridge deliver a remarkable €1,900+ per seat… and from one of the older and smaller stadiums in Deloitte’s list of top 20 clubs.

The rankings of the top 20 clubs are very different when we evaluate how well their matchday business performs, with lots of surprises….
