Winners in Focus: TheStadiumBusiness Awards 2018
Recognising leadership, innovation & achievement in the delivery, operation and management of sports facilities globally.
TheStadiumBusiness Awards are the only awards to recognise a whole spectrum of achievements from across the global stadium industry. The awards ceremony took place during TheStadiumBusiness Summit at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester, in front of an audience of senior industry figures. This year saw ten deserving award winners take to the stage and collect their prestigious TheStadiumBusiness Award, but where are the awards now?
Some are in their fantastic new homes in the UK, such as the Leicester Tigers (pictured below, right), The Tunnel Club of Manchester City (pictured below, left) and the Event of the Year award that went to #Game4Grenfell at Loftus Road, Queens Park Rangers, whilst others have traveled across the world to their new homes. The Venue of the Year award has joined our good friends at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, USA, along with our Outstanding Achievement Award that went to Lee Zeidman, President of the STAPLES Center, USA.
Our world class judges were as impressed as ever, describing Product Innovation Award winners, The Tunnel Club as ‘redefining standards, demonstrating this club’s commitment to bringing supporters closer to the action.’
Additionally, they were not surprised that everyone describes Patrice Lafarge, our Unsung Hero from Paris Saint-Germain as ‘Magic Patrice’ (pictured below, right). Judges described the Leicester City Tigers as ‘growing year-on-year as a venue with the Fan Experience at the forefront.’
CenturyLink Field (pictured below, middle) were described as being ‘one of the most environmentally-friendly and sustainable sports and entertainment facilities in the world.’
‘Setting the benchmark for stadia globally’ is our Venue of the Year, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, USA. Pictured below left and above right, Scott Jenkins, General Manager (Mercedes-Benz Stadium.)
