#SBS24 Preview: Going Green – Eagles fly with sustainability and the fan experience

Flying high with the fan experience: Norman Vossschulte with Swoop, the Eagles’ mascot

Flying high with the fan experience: Norman Vossschulte with Swoop, the Eagles’ mascot

TheStadiumBusiness welcomes Norman Vossschulte, Director of Fan Experience and Sustainability at the Philadelphia Eagles to this year’s world-class conference line-up.

In 2014, Norman became the Eagles’ official GO GREEN spokesperson. During his tenure leading the “green team,” the Eagles have obtained LEED Gold certification and were the first sports team in the world to reach ISO 20121 certification.

Norman will be sharing insights from the team’s playbook on the importance of fan experience as part of its sustainability journey as the Eagles strive to reduce their own carbon footprint and set the example when it comes to addressing climate change in business strategy.

Norman’s work experience is as eclectic as his upbringing. He has worked in the hotel industry, the nonprofit industry, as well as both sports and entertainment industries. Twenty-five years of practicing customer and client relations have given him an overview of which techniques consistently enhance guest experiences. He also draws on more than 17 years of staff training and team leadership experience working with The Walt Disney Company and currently the Philadelphia Eagles.

In February of 2020, the Eagles and PDC Machines announced a multiyear sustainability partnership. Just a few weeks later, the world shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fast-forward to September 22, 2023 as the Eagles became the first professional sports team in North America to install and utilise a hydrogen production and fueling station to power its maintenance vehicles thanks to the relationship with PDC Machines.

Meet Norman and hundreds of venue owners, operators and executives only at #SBS24 on 18-19 June at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester…
